As you explore Spotify’s extensive music library, it’s natural to like songs along the way. But as your music taste evolves, you might want to clean up your liked songs to better reflect your current preferences. Plus, Spotify imposes a limit on the number of liked songs, so managing them becomes necessary. In this post, we’ll show you how to remove liked songs on Spotify from both desktop and mobile devices simultaneously. Let’s dive in.
How to Remove Individual Spotify Songs?
You can remove unwanted tracks from your Liked Songs playlist one by one—or remove several at once. Here’s how to do it on the Spotify desktop app:
On PC
#1: Open the Spotify desktop app on your PC or Mac.
#2: In the left sidebar, scroll to Your Library and click on Liked Songs.
#3: In the playlist, hover over the song(s) you want to remove.
#4:
-
To remove a single song, right-click it and select Remove from your Liked Songs.
-
To remove multiple songs, hold Ctrl (on PC) or Command (on Mac), click to select the songs, then right-click and choose Remove from your Liked Songs.
#5: Alternatively, click the green heart icon on Spotify next to the song title to unlike it.
#6: The selected song(s) will be removed from your Liked Songs playlist.
Note: Any changes you make in the desktop app—like unliking songs—will automatically sync with the Spotify mobile app. So the updates will reflect across both platforms.
On Phone
#1: Open the Spotify app on your iOS, iPadOS, or Android device.
#2: Tap on Library, then open the Liked Songs playlist.
#3: Scroll to the song you want to remove.
#4: Tap the More button (three horizontal dots) next to the song, then select Remove from this playlist. The song will be unliked and removed.
#5: Repeat for any other songs you’d like to remove.
How to Remove All Liked Spotify Songs At the Same Time?
If you want to clear your entire Liked Songs playlist, it’s best to use a computer for this process.
#1: Open the Spotify desktop app and go to Your Library > Liked Songs.
#2: Press Ctrl + A (on PC) or Command + A (on Mac) to select all songs in the playlist.
#3: Right-click the selection and choose Remove from your Liked Songs.
#4: All songs will be unliked, and your Liked Songs playlist will be empty.
How to Recover Deleted Liked Songs on Spotify?
If you’ve accidentally deleted all your liked songs, there’s a workaround—but it only works if the deletion occurred within the last 90 days. Spotify allows users to recover deleted playlists, which may include a version of your Liked Songs.
Note: This recovery option does not work if you deleted songs individually.
#1: On the desktop app, click your Profile icon and go to Account. This opens the Account Overview page in your browser.
#2: In the sidebar, find and click on Recover playlists.
#3: A list of deleted playlists will appear.
#4: Find the playlist that contained your liked songs and click Restore next to it.
#5: The restored playlist will appear in Your Library, but it won’t be your original Liked Songs playlist.
#6: To re-add the songs, open the recovered playlist and either:
-
Right-click a song > Save to your Liked Songs, or
-
Hover over the track and click the Heart icon.
