How To Regram on Instagram: 4 Ideas

Regram on Instagram

Regramming on Instagram is to repost photos from other accounts to your own feed. It’s essential to know how to regram on Instagram correctly whether you are reposting content from a related brand in your industry, or from a follower whose posts match your own ideas.

By regramming, you will get fresh content for your audiences. It also helps your brand gain more engagement. Right when you deeply understand how to regram, you can take your Instagram marketing strategy to a higher level.

Let’s dive in!

What is “regram”?

The word “regram” refers to take an Instagram photo from another Instagram account and post it to your own.

It comes like you retweeting on Twitter or sharing a post on Facebook. It’s a good idea that makes the content of other users is shouted out while gaining engagement on your own account.

However, to regram on Instagram is not easy like downloading other users’ photos and posting them as your own. You should ALWAYS require permission before doing it. Ensure that the owner of original posts accept your requirement and let you use their content.

If you don’t do that before regramming, you’ll not only look like a jerkwad (completely real term), but it can also result in an easily avoided PR nightmare.

And once you get permission to regram another’s content, make sure to give proper credit. This is to include their user name in the caption of the photo.

Here is the best way to provide appropriate attribution: You should simply state it outright. For example: “Photo Credit: @username,” “Credit: @username,” or “Captured by @username.”

Let’s take a look at a great example of a regram from @hootsuite.

And remember, try not to edit the original photo if possible. You hate it when someone altered a photo without your permission. And of course, in case that they add their brand’s watermark on it, it will drive you crazy.

So, if you have to make edits for any reason, be sure to make it clear with the original owner of the photo when you ask for permission.
