Instagram was announcing some big changes to Instagram in November 2020 – Reels and Shop tab. The Reels tab allows you to easily explore short and fun videos made by creators all around the world and people like you. The Shop tab helps you connect with brands, have a chance to discover their products that you may love and want to make a purchase.
Instagram always pay more attention to young people and creators who are trendsetters. Change is happening more and more quickly these days, including how both youngsters and creators use Instagram and connect with the world. The previous year, with the COVID-19 pandemic and a lot of the world sheltering in place, we’ve seen an explosion in short, entertaining videos on the Internet. We’ve also seen tons of shopping move online, bring with them an incredible number of people purchasing online. Moreover, youngsters search for recommendations of their favorite creators on Instagram to decide what to buy. Instagram realized all these things too. So, they decided to launch the new two function that helps us have a better experience on this platform.
Instagram Reels Tab
Instagram first released Reels in August 2020. And we have already seen amazing reels from tons of creators all over the world. For example roller-skating with @esty, comedy from @cameronjhenderson, motivation from @paperboytheprince, and wheelchair choreography from dance team @rolletes_la. Now, the Reels tab just the same as a stage, a place where everyone can share their creativity with others out there. Then they have a great opportunity to stand out from the crowd and find their own audiences.
Instagram Shop Tab
With the Shop tab, Instagram makes it easier for you to get inspired by creators you love, online shopping on Instagram, and give a hand to support small businesses in this pandemic. You can find personalized recommendations, editors’ picks curated by Instagram’s @shop channel, shoppable videos, new product collections, and so on.
Reels and Shop Tab is one of the best changes showing how Instagram is improving its platform. They don’t make their changes lightly. Instagram hasn’t updated its home screen in a big way for quite a while. However, the way people create and enjoy culture has changed. The biggest risk to Instagram is not that they improve too fast, but that they don’t change and become irrelevant. We have a right to feel excited about the new design of Instagram and believe that it will give this platform a much-needed refresh. And Instagram keeps staying true to its core value of simplicity. And we are looking forward to seeing what Instagram does to become a better version of itself.
